Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the quality of life of participants in the University Program in 2015-2017. Methods: A cross-sectional, quantitative study using SF-36 questionnaire to evaluate the quality of life of the elderly participants in the program. Results:The sample consisted of 93 participants, with a mean age of 64.07 to 65.57 years; mean systolic blood pressure (SBP) ranged from 127.75 to 135.05 mmHg; diastolic blood pressure (DBP) 74.04 to 78.34 mmHg; capillary glycemia ranged from 99.24 to 132.84 mg / dl and BMI 27.79 to 29.21 kg / cm2. There was a predominance of females; the percentage of participants who presented changes in SBP ranged from 21.74 to 44.29%, in DBP from 5.80 to 15.56%, capillary blood glycemia was from 4.48 to 29.55%, in relation to BMI from 47.14 to 55.56%; The percentage who declared themselves smokers ranged from 0 to 6.67%. With the application of SF-36, it was possible to observe that the aspects functional capacity, pain and physical limitation were the worst results with score below 50% in most evaluations. Conclusion: It can be inferred that this is due to the fact that with advancing age our physical capacity is reduced, there is comorbidities and pain.
