Abstract

Objective: to track digital health technologies (DHTs) in Pathological Anatomy Laboratories and describe those cited between 2016 and 2021. Methods: this study conducted an integrative literature review to identify articles on software, applications, and information systems applied to pathology laboratories. The research covered articles published until July 2021. Results: 71 studies were identified, of which 26 were extensively analyzed. These articles presented 78 DHTs, categorized into five main functionalities: Macroscopy Software, Slide digitization, Image management and visualization, Image analysis, and Laboratory Information Systems (LIS). The benefits of DHTs include higher diagnostic accuracy, remote sharing of data and images, reduced diagnostic time, as well as assisting in standardization and information management. Final considerations: the technologies mentioned in this study drive significant advancements in the field of Pathology, offering improvements in examination accuracy, diagnosis, and treatment.
