Abstract
Objective: To understand the epidemiological profile of patients hospitalized with Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI) in the state of Pará. Methods: This refers to a longitudinal, epidemiological, retrospective study, of an analytical and quantitative nature, using data from the IT Department of the Unified Health System (DATASUS) between the years 2012-2022. Results: The sample, over a 10-year period, recorded 1650 hospitalizations for AMI, the majority of which were male (61.4%) and mixed race (69.5%). Regarding the distribution of cases by health regions, Araguaia Paraense presented 1676 records, corresponding to 14% of the total. Of this, the municipality of Redenção led with 15.7% of cases. The highest absolute number of cases per year was in 2021 with 334 (19.92%). According to age group, the highest prevalence occurred between 60 and 69 years old with 411 (24.52%). Conclusion: It is concluded that Acute Myocardial Infarction is a pathology that is directly linked to lifestyle habits, which require changes in modifiable factors. The profile of these patients showed greater involvement in elderly males, mixed race and higher incidence in populated regions.
