Abstract

Objective: To synthesise crucial information on the application and impact of digital technologies in the health sector. Methods: Integrative literature review (ILR), a total of 122 initial publications were selected, 12 were chosen based on the PICO methodology to elaborate the research question, and on a critical and reflexive analysis of the contents, thus ensuring a comprehensive and reliable review. Results: The review of studies highlighted the diversity in the use of digital technologies in healthcare, highlighting the integration of mobile and wireless devices into everyday life and how they are revolutionising healthcare. Another important aspect was the effectiveness of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) in training pharmacy professionals. In addition, the role of social networks such as WhatsApp® and Instagram® in disseminating health information and promoting public health initiatives was highlighted. Final considerations: The study, although comprehensive, acknowledges limitations related to the selection of articles and data sources, which may affect the generalisability of the results. The conclusions emphasise the importance of digital technology in the evolution of healthcare and the need to address ethical and privacy issues in this dynamic scenario.
