Abstract

Objective: Evaluate the epidemiological dynamics of the Chikungunya virus in the state of Pará from 2015 to 2022. Methods: The study is ecological, cross-sectional, descriptive, and analytical, analyzing the spatiotemporal distribution of Chikungunya fever cases in Pará from 2015 to 2022. Sociodemographic variables, pre-existing conditions, laboratory data, and case outcomes were used, also expressed in tables and graphs. Results: The age distribution shows concentration in the 20 to 39 age groups, among women and individuals of mixed race. Prevalent symptoms include fever, myalgia, and headache. The association with pre-existing conditions highlights arterial hypertension and diabetes. 67.29% confirmed recovery and 0.02% deaths were reported. Discussion: There are many limitations, such as underreporting and lack of clarity in the data filled out in notification forms, compromising interpretation. The importance of detailed and standardized documentation for a more accurate analysis of the disease is emphasized. Conclusion: Emphasizes the need for detailed and standardized documentation for a more precise analysis of the disease and its implications for public health, highlighting areas for future studies.
