Abstract
Objective: To analyze the role of community health agents in the management of hearing health in Primary Care. Methods: In December 2023, an integrative literature review was conducted using articles published in the last five years, available in the Virtual Health Library. The search strategy returned 126 articles, of which 11 were included. The category variables evaluated were: casuistry, training time, testers, environmental conditions, feedback and training methodology. Results: 9 studies prioritized school-age children and only 2 included children under 2 years of age; Ten studies focused on hearing screening and diagnosis, with only 1 dealing with health promotion. Most of the studies were developed with smartphone hearing screening with Hands-on training of Community Health Agents (CHA). However, all the studies make it clear that the work of the CHWs was successfully carried out by the training programs, with good results and even increasing adherence to the follow-up of children with hearing loss, due to their proximity to the community. Conclusion: Community agents can be a fundamental link in the decentralization of the management of children's hearing health in Primary Health Care.
