Abstract

Objective: Perform translation and cross-cultural adaptation of the Revised University of Sydney Medical Program PBL Tutor Feedback Form questionnaire to assess the perception of tutor’s performance in PBL. Methods: The stages of translation, synthesis, back-translation, review by a group of experts, pretest and preparation of the final version of the questionnaire were performed. The versions for the primary cycle and clinic cycle were both submitted independently to the Cronbach’s alpha test to evaluation of internal consistency and confiability. It was considered to be acceptable values ≥ 0,70. Results: In comparison of the back- translated with the original questionnaire, there were discrete semantic discrepancies in six questions, which had their texts adapted. Pretest version was applied in 32 volunteers. Transcription analysis showed discrepancies in two questions, that were modified for better understanding. The Chronbach’s alpha was 0,924 for the basic cycle questionnaire and 0,950 in the clinical cycle one and varied from 0,915 to 0,930 among basic cycle questions and 0,946 to 0,953 in the clinical one. Conclusion: The questionnaire was considered translated and cross-culturally adapted for use in the Brazilian Portuguese language, being useful to assess the student's perception of the tutor in the PBL method.
