Abstract
Objective: Describe the scientific evidence about the use of electroauriculotherapy in patients with acute pain in primary care. Methods: Integrative literature review, in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI/PubMed), Biblioteca Virtual em Saúde (BVS), Embase (Elsevier), Web of Science and Scopus (Elsevier) databases, carried out in between April and May of 2023. The controlled descriptors Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) and Descritores em Ciências da Saúde (DeCS) were used. "Electroauriculotherapy"; "Primary Care"; "Acute pain", making combinations with the terms with the use of the Boolean operators "AND" and "OR". Results: 466 studies were identified, and between them, nine made it to the final sample, which described the auriculotherapy being used in the handling of pain. Final considerations: The well performed auriculotherapy shows itself as a safe and effective option for the treatment of acute pain in people served in primary care, but it is observed that there is a need for more comprehensive studies.
