Abstract
Objective: To comprehensively and deeply analyze the main dermatoses identified in transgender individuals undergoing Gender Affirming Hormonal Therapy (GAHT). Methods: This is an integrative literature review, with inclusion criteria being primary articles in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, published in the last 10 years, addressing dermatoses in transgender individuals undergoing GAHT. Results: After searches in the PubMed (129), Cochrane (1), Lilacs (60), Scielo (0) and Acervo+ Index Base (0) databases and removal of duplicates (37), 153 studies were selected for title analysis, leaving, after this analysis, 75 articles for abstract reading. After this screening, suitable studies (16) were read in full, leading to the final use of 6 articles in the review. Final considerations: It is considered that the main dermatoses on the skin of transgender individuals are melasma, xerosis, and alopecia in trans women, and acne and alopecia in trans men. Careful and inclusive clinical management is necessary to address dermatoses in transgender patients to ensure successful gender affirmation.
