Abstract

Objective: Analyze the evidence in the literature on nursing actions regarding the difficulty of elderly people in adhering to HIV treatment. Methods: This is an integrative review of the literature. The databases used were: Virtual Health Library (VHL), Medical Literature Analysis and Retrievel System Online (MEDLINE), Nursing Databases (BDENF) and Latin American and Caribbean Literature in Health Sciences (LILACS). The inclusion criteria used to filter articles: studies available in full, which cover the proposed topic, in Portuguese and which were published between 2017 and 2021. Results: From the analysis of the articles, two categories of results emerged, which allowed a better presentation of scientific evidence on the topic. These two categories were: Elderly people and difficulties in adhering to antiretroviral treatment and Nursing actions for the treatment of elderly people with HIV: possibilities to help with treatment adherence. Conclusion: Analysis of scientific evidence data on nursing actions for elderly people living with HIV/AIDS with difficulties adhering to treatment, allowed us to analyze the difficulties and vulnerabilities in relation to adherence to antiretroviral treatment for elderly people living with HIV/AIDS.
