The study included home health care patients in current or past use of long term and/or intermittent urinary catheterization treated by the home care service (HC) on site, from January 2018 to December 2022. Data were analyzed on Microsoft Excel® and collected from the town government management system and from the HC service patient’s records. Results: Among the 3353 patients assisted, 88 used urinary catheter and 68 were included on the study. The results showed that almost the total patients are assisted by women, use long term catheter, for reasons justified by their clinical conditions. Highlighting that patients spend, in average, a long period with the catheter and there are associated complications, being the most prevalent the urinary tract infection. Conclusion: The assistance of patients in use of urinary catheter in town service has gaps, among them, there is the filling up of patient’s health records; being required investments on evidences use, regarding technology and team, patients and family training.
