Abstract
Objective: To gather and analyze evidence to understand and correlate the influence of Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) induced by Covid-19 vaccination. Methods: A integrative literature review including articles published between 2021 and 2024 and selected through access to scientific publication platforms such as Scielo, BVS, PubMed, and Elsevier. The descriptors Covid Vaccine and Takotsubo Syndrome were used. Articles belonging to the typology of editorials, expert opinions, responses to opinions, reviews, book chapters, and isolated case reports were excluded. Results: 13 articles were included, of which 12 articles found an association between Covid-19 vaccination and TTS. There is a higher incidence of this complication produced by messenger RNA (mRNA) vaccines compared to other vaccines. The most prevalent symptoms in TTS induced by vaccination include chest pain, fever, cough, dyspnea, nausea, and digestive symptoms. Electrocardiographic changes were evidenced (ST segment elevation and T wave inversion) as well as elevation of cardiac markers (troponin, CK-MB, and NT-proBNP). Imaging exams showed ground-glass opacities, pulmonary consolidation, and increased cardiac silhouette. Final considerations: It is crucial to monitor the effects of Covid-19 vaccines to develop effective prevention and management strategies
