Abstract
Objective: To describe the importance of the pharmacist in providing guidance to patients suspected of having COVID-19. Methods: Cross-sectional research using primary data from rapid test results for COVID-19 carried out by pharmacists between April 2021 and April 2022 and the professional's respective guidelines regarding the choice of test and other information about the disease. Calculations were performed in Excel, and statistics were performed in Tableau software, with correlation carried out by Person's chi-square test. Results: Participants had a mean age of 38.9 (±17.5), the majority of whom were adults (75.9%), followed by elderly people (12.7%). Regarding positivity, 32% presented this result, and of these, only 65.2% of them had symptoms. Among the symptomatic ones, the most recorded were sore throat, dyspnea, fever, cough, headache, diarrhea, myalgia, runny nose, lack of taste and smell. Conclusion: It is concluded that the pharmacist can play an important role in guiding the population about symptoms and rapid tests for COVID-19.
