Abstract

ABSTRACT

Objective: To describe the vaccination coverage of Pentavalent, Poliomyelitis-VIP and Triple Viral immunobiologicals in children under one year of age in the state of Mato Grosso. Methods: This is a descriptive, observational and retrospective study carried out between 2018 and 2022. Tabnet and Tabwin were used to collect the data in the electronic model, accessible on the DATASUS website. Graphs were prepared using the Excel program. Vaccination coverage maps were drawn up using the QGIS geographic information system. Tables were prepared using the GoogleDocs online document editor. Results: Vaccination coverage decreased when comparing the pre-pandemic and pandemic periods, with a marked recovery in the post-pandemic period. In relation to the state's micro-regions, the inland areas had a greater share than the micro-region that includes the state capital. Conclusion: Despite the great variability of the factors contributing to this reduction in coverage, the pandemic has gained prominence in the unfolding of the consequences of low immunization, many of which have not yet been clarified in the literature.
