Abstract
Objective: Evaluate the management of epilepsy in Primary Health Care. Methods: This is an integrative literature review carried out in accordance with the recommendations and criteria described in the preferred reports for reviews (PRISMA). The documents were selected from the following databases: LILACS, MEDLINE, PUBMED and SCIELO. The screening was carried out using the Rayyan software and the surveys selected from 2013 to 2023 were tabulated using the Microsoft Excel software Results: According to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, 10 studies were selected. Due to the different methodologies, locations and realities of the study, different forms of management were observed, highlighting the role of primary care, the use of technologies, mental health and the development of guides for the best management of epilepsy. Final considerations: It is considered that it is up to primary care professionals to first recognize and receive people with epilepsy. After recognition, begin a detailed anamnesis, personal and family history, assessment of the crisis and possible causal factors, in addition to the adequacy of medication and protocols that guide appropriate referral.
