Abstract
Objective: To present a case report of cosmetic dental contouring through a multidisciplinary approach, involving periodontal surgery, tooth whitening, direct restorations in composite resin and the making of a stabilizing occlusal plate. Case details: A male patient, 18 years old, with healthy and aligned teeth following orthodontic intervention, sought dental assistance still dissatisfied with the esthetics of his smile due to incisal wear of the upper central incisors, diastemas between the lateral incisors and upper canines, gummy smile, as well as alterations in the color and shape of the teeth. The treatment plan, previously discussed and accepted by the patient, included gengivectomy using an external bevel technique, in-office dental bleaching (35% hydrogen peroxide) combined with at-home bleaching (16% carbamide peroxide), direct composite resin restorations, and fabrication of a stabilizing occlusal splint. Final considerations: The execution of the proposed treatment plan, through a multidisciplinary approach, achieved a satisfactory result, restoring both aesthetics and function. The patient expressed satisfaction with the final outcome of his smile, regaining self-esteem and quality of life.
