Abstract
Objective: To elucidate, through a literature review, the use of sockets in Oral Rehabilitation, in addition to the clinical and laboratory implications of the association between fixed and removable partial dentures using this artifact. Methods: The search for articles was carried out through reference bases in the BVS, LILACS, BBO e MEDLINE. To collect data, the controlled descriptors of the through the Decs (Descriptors in Health Sciences), consisting of “attachments”, “dental prosthesis” and “planning”. Results: Combined Oral Rehabilitations are a viable and effective alternative for the patient, especially for those who do not have the financial means to undergo surgery involving dental implants. However, correct clinical planning must be carried out, aiming to optimize the types of prostheses that will be combined with each other, and satisfactory occlusion planning, so that this type of Oral Rehabilitation can have clinical success and longevity. Conclusion: It is concluded that to manufacture this type of prosthetic device, good laboratory knowledge for its correct manufacture is required, as it involves more than one type of dental prosthesis.
