Abstract

Objective: Categorize the factors that influence the teaching of patient safety in undergraduate Nursing courses in Brazil. Methods: An integrative literature review was conducted using the MEDLINE, BDENF via VHL and SciELO databases. Complete original articles published in Portuguese, Spanish or English between 2019 and 2023 were selected. Results: 646 studies were retrieved, of which eleven met the inclusion criteria and comprised the final sample. The studies were categorized into two sections: 1) Factors that hinder the teaching of patient safety in undergraduate nursing courses. 2) Factors that can promote patient safety teaching in undergraduate nursing courses. Final considerations: Challenges in teaching patient safety include scarcity of resources, problems in the infrastructure of educational institutions, student anxiety about dealing with errors, lack of patient safety protocols in practice settings, and failures to incorporate patient safety. patient on resumes. The integration of educational technologies proved to be fundamental for professional training, highlighting the importance of connecting information and communication technologies to the teaching process.
