Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the stress of higher education students during the Covid-19 Pandemic in Brazil. Methods: This was a longitudinal study where 686 higher education students were evaluated through a questionnaire completed on the Google Forms Platform. Results: It was identified that the most frequent symptoms in the last 24 hours were insomnia (43.7%) and muscle tension (43.90%). In the last month, excessive irritability (48.50%), self-doubt (56%) and feeling of physical exhaustion were identified as the most common. After 3 months, the symptoms become more chronic, where the desire to escape from everything (47.50%), nightmares (42.40%) and anxiety and daily anguish (54%) were identified as the most frequent symptoms. Conclusion: The Covid-19 pandemic increased stress in the higher education population, who initially presented acute alarm symptoms, such as insomnia. Over time, chronic symptoms progressed, as reported in the medical literature.
