Abstract
Objective: To report a case of brugada syndrome in an asymptomatic thirty-three-year-old individual, previously healthy, without clinical changes and with electrocardiogram findings equivalent to the standard for the disease. Case details: Case of brugada syndrome in a thirty-three-year-old individual, previously healthy, with no history of synopsis or other clinical cardiological changes. However, his electrocardiogram showed electrical traces similar to the pattern of the disease in question. He underwent an electrophysiological study that showed significant electrical changes consistent with brugada syndrome. After diagnosis and as a therapeutic measure, the patient was referred for surgery to implant a cardioverter (defibrillator). The patient remains asymptomatic to this day, with no records of arrhythmias and corrective electrical measures using the implanted equipment. Final considerations: Therefore, early diagnosis, especially in asymptomatic patients, is of great importance for those with brugada syndrome, as in addition to being a predictor of a good prognosis, it contributes to the reduction of fatal conditions such as ventricular fibrillation and later sudden death, since this tragic outcome is recurrent and is still characterized as a major obstacle for healthcare entities around the world.
