Abstract
Objective: Analyze scientific productions that address the role of the multi-professional team in dealing with individuals with cleft lip and palate. Methods: This is an Integrative Literature Review, divided into six phases and guided by the question “What is available in the literature regarding the multiprofessional assistance provided to the newborn with cleft lip and palate?”. The search for articles took place in May 2024, in the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI/Pubmed) database, using the Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS): “Patient Care Team”, “Newborn”, “Childhealth”, “Cleft lip” and “Cleft palate”. Results: The final sample consisted of 18 articles covering the physical and psychological repercussions of cleft lip and palate, the importance of early diagnosis, surgical, dental, nutritional and speech therapy aspects, post-operative care, nursing interventions and barriers to care for this group. Final considerations: It has been shown that cleft lip and palate has many repercussions on various aspects of the life of the individual and their family and that multi-professional care is necessary from birth, favoring favorable prognoses in the physical and emotional aspects.
