Abstract

Objective: Analyze the clinical and epidemiological profile of Chagas disease morbidity in the state of Pará and map its spatial distribution, identifying areas of higher incidence and differentiating specific characteristics prevalent. Methods: Descriptive study, based on the information from the Information System for Notifiable Diseases (SINAN) databases from 2002 to 2022, using the following variables: sex; age group in years, race/skin color, evolution of the disease, probable mode of infection, probable place of infection and year of occurrence. Results: Variation in the prevalence of Chagas disease in the state of Pará between 2010 and 2021. The spatial distribution of the morbidity maps showed heterogeneity, showing that males have the highest infection rates, in the 20-39 age group, with their brown ethnic-racial classification, their place being their own home and the predominant mode being oral. Conclusion: The prevalence of Chagas disease in the Pará reflects a dynamic influenced by socio-economic, environmental and health factors. Understanding these patterns is crucial for the effective implementation of control, early detection and treatment policies.
