Abstract
Objective: To investigate how the number of hospitalizations and deaths due to HIV in this age group has evolved over the years in the State of Pará. Methods: The study was carried out using an ecological analysis of data provided by DATASUS on HIV hospitalizations and mortality rates from 2008 to 2023 in the state of Pará. The study statistics were prepared using RStudio software version 4.2.3, with data manipulation in Microsoft Excel . Results: Analyzing the results obtained, it is valid to interpret that peaks in hospitalizations in the years 2008 and 2009 may indicate gaps in the dissemination of information and adherence to treatment, exacerbated by crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic. The stabilization shows that educational programs and the distribution of antiretroviral therapies have been effective in mitigating the problem. Conclusion: Significant progress has been made in terms of the number of treatments, hospitalizations and deaths associated with the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).
