Abstract

Objective: To develop and validate a tool for calculating the Shock Index. Methods: A descriptive, methodological study with a quantitative and qualitative approach, conducted in two stages. The following participated in stage 1: 77 health professionals from a public maternity hospital in the state of Pará, through semi-structured interviews, whose data were analyzed using Bardin's Content Analysis. The following participated in stage 2: 10 judges who are experts in the area of interest, through an instrument based on the Likert Scale, analyzed using the Delphi technique and the Content Validity Index. Results: The contributions of the health professionals gave rise to two thematic categories: Benefits and advantages of implementing the Shock Index Calculator and Suggestions for improving the tool. The judges validated the product with a CVI of 1 and 100% agreement. Conclusion: The product is considered potentially useful for implementation in the health service and can provide greater effectiveness and practicality in care.
