Abstract
Objective: To carry out an analysis of the epidemiological profile of patients with Colorectal Cancer (CRC) in Minas Gerais in the year 2022. Methods: To treat a retrospective, analytical, observational, and cross-sectional study, with a quantitative approach, based on data that make up DATASUS and INCA. Incidence and mortality data relating to colorectal cancer were selected, with the study site being in the state of Minas Gerais, in the period of 2022. Results: The incidence of colorectal cancer in Minas Gerais in 2022 was 5,100 in absolute value, while mortality was 2,204. It is noted that the incidence of mortality is higher in the age group of 60 to 69 years. Furthermore, there is no statistically significant difference between the sexes. Conclusion: CRC is a public health problem, which highlights the importance of adequate screening for this pathology, in addition to encouraging healthy lifestyle habits, in order to diagnose early forms, increasing survival and reducing mortality from CRC.
