Abstract
Objective: To review the literature in an integrative manner to analyze the clinical efficacy of sealing active caries in dentin using fluid resin. Methods: The literature searches were carried out in 2021, through the PubMed, Science Direct, Scopus and Web of Science databases, according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria, and using the descriptors registered in Mesh: Dental caries, pit and fissure sealants, and dentin, their Entry Terms will also be included, connected to each other by the Boolean operators "AND" and "OR". Results: 305 articles were found, and 5 articles were selected, where there were no statistical differences regarding the progression of lesions using the different methods. Conclusion/Final considerations: It can be concluded that sealing with flow resin is an effective minimal intervention option because it results in the process of paralyzing the caries progression process by means of a mechanical barrier, which provides less clinical time used and preservation of tooth structure.
