Abstract
Objective: To build and validate the content of a teleconsultation protocol for children with neurogenic dysphagia. Methods: Methodological research, developed between March 2021 and October 2022. A preliminary protocol proposal was prepared, based on a systematic review and submitted to the committee of expert judges for content validation purposes. The sample was a non-probabilistic convenience sample characterized by nine speech therapy professionals. Validation followed the principles of the Delphi Technique and the judges' agreement regarding the representativeness of the items in relation to the content was measured by the Content Validity Index for each Item (I-IVC). Results: The final version of the protocol included four domains: care management and quality of life of patients and caregivers, guidance on neurogenic oropharyngeal dysphagia, measures to promote safe eating (prevention of episodes of pulmonary aspiration) and guidance for management of dysphagia. The protocol proved to be valid, with CVI equal to or above the pre-established value (80%) with perfect agreement in verifying reliability between examiners. Conclusion: According to the results presented, the content is appropriate and relevant for use in teleconsultation for children with neurogenic dysphagia.
