Abstract
Objective: To identify the most common factors in predicting failure in the extubation process in children after cardiac surgery. Methods: This is an integrative review, which includes 5 steps: identification of the research question and relevant studies; selection of studies; data mapping and demonstration of results, conducted according to the guidelines found in the reviewers' manual of the Joanna Briggs Institute of Observational Studies in Epidemiology. Four databases were used: PubMed, Cochrane, Embase and Lilacs. The project was registered in the Open Science Framework-OSF registry database. Results: In the initial search, 3045 articles were found in the PubMed (n=2064), Cochrane (n=10), Embase (n=956) and Lilacs (n=15) databases. After removing 291 duplicate articles and excluding 2747 articles based on reading titles and abstracts, 7 articles remained for full reading. Following the eligibility criteria, 5 articles were selected for analysis. Final considerations: According to the studies, there is a need to expand and strengthen conduct regarding ventilatory weaning planning and which path to follow. The findings highlighted the relevance of the proposed theme, since the need for further studies regarding the topic addressed is necessary.
