Abstract

Objective: To report the experience of nursing students as monitors in the courses of Nursing Semiotics and Semiotechnique, Clinical and Surgical Nursing, and Nursing in Critical Care, using social media as an information and communication technology tool in the education and training of undergraduate nursing students. Experience Report: During the nursing student monitoring, information and communication technology tools were used as a teaching strategy, including the production of scientific posts, problem-based learning, office hours, the creation of original games, as well as the use of clinical cases, low-fidelity simulations, and primarily simulated practice. Final Considerations: During the activity, the integration of traditional monitoring practice with technological tools, using accessible and interactive dynamics, was observed, resulting in greater project adherence and student learning. Evaluating the importance of communication in today's society, as well as the primary role of information, reveals the necessity of including, in the learning process, teaching activities mediated by communication and information technologies.
