Abstract

Objective: Analyze the benefits of professional training and qualification courses in hemodialysis services. Methods: This is an review of literature, with articles published between 2015 and 2023, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, available in full text. Guiding question used: “What are the benefits of training for the training and qualification of professionals in hemodialysis services?”. The bibliographic investigation was carried out in June 2024, with searches in the LILACS, Medline, SciELO and Web of Science databases, using the descriptors: “Professional Capacity”, “Hemodiálisis”, “Nursing”, “Patient Safety” and “Health Management”. Results: 39 studies were found, of which 10 met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The results indicate that training and qualification courses provide significant improvement in the quality of care, reducing adverse events and promoting a safe and efficient work environment. Furthermore, the courses contribute to technical updating, better communication between the healthcare team and compliance with safe practices. Final considerations: The continuous and comprehensive training of all professionals who intervene in hemodialysis units is essential to guarantee patient safety and treatment effectiveness, contributing to the promotion of quality care.
