Abstract

Objective:To report a clinical case of an extensive traumatic ulcerative lesion on the lower lip of a patient with cerebral palsy. Case details: A male patient with cerebral palsy (CP), nine months old, had difficulty feeding due to an extensive lesion on the lip. Intraoral clinical examination revealed the presence of teeth 51, 61, 71, and 81, as well as an extensive traumatic ulceration on the inner portion of the lower lip with protruding edges, hardened margins, white verrucous plaques, and no bleeding. The treatment consisted of rounding the incisal edges of the lower incisors and prescribing the topical use of triamcinolone in orabase, with the use of a pacifier to prevent contact between the deciduous teeth and the lower lip. Final consideration: After a period of 2 months, complete remission of the ulcer was observed, and after 3 months, the patient returned for a new clinical evaluation without signs of lesion recurrence.
