Abstract

Objective: To understand the application of georeferencing in researching patient experience in a reference hospital in the northern region of Brazil. Methods: This study, of a descriptive nature and quantitative approach, was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of the Santa Casa de Misericórdia do Pará Foundation (FSCMPA), under the substantiated opinion nº 5.081-CEP/FSCMPA. Results: The technology developed presents four panels, with georeferenced data being visible in the main panel. The division was adopted by health macro-region, health regions and regional health centers that are used by the Ministry of Health and the Health Secretariat of the State of Pará. The largest number of respondents is macro-region I, with 249 records. Macro I is made up of 30 municipalities, with the six municipalities that make up the Metropolitan Region of Belém included in this macro-region, which is in line with the volume of service in this larger line. Conclusion: The use of georeferencing as a management tool for analysis through dynamic maps with data from patient experience research proved to be a valuable instrument for spatial visualization of the origin of patients who are treated.
