Abstract
Objective: To associate the TI-RADS and Chammas results with the Bethesda system in patients with thyroid nodules. Methods: Retrospective study, produced by evaluating the records of ultrasound and cytology exams in outpatients at a private clinic in Aracaju-SE. In the first phase, the quantitative variables were obtained and the mean, standard deviation and minimum and maximum values were calculated. In the second phase, tables were constructed and the Chi-square test was used to assess the relationship between TI-RADS, Chammas and Bethesda, with a significance level (p) of 5%. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee under protocol number 7.058.353. Results: 210 patients aged between 16 and 88 years were assessed. In the TI-RADS classification, there was a prevalence of category 3 with 74 cases (34.6%), followed by category 4 with 71 cases (33.2%). In the Chammas classification, there was a prevalence of category III with 157 cases (73.7%). In the Bethesda classification, there was a prevalence of category 2 with 111 cases (52.6%). Conclusion: There was no significant association between the TI-RADS and Bethesda (p>0.05) and there was a significant association between the Chammas and TI-RADS (p<0.005).
