Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the quality of life of women undergoing treatment for breast cancer. Methods: Cross-sectional study with a quantitative approach carried out in a Hospital in the Campo das Vertentes region, and Private Clinic, including adult women with breast cancer. A sociodemographic questionnaire was applied to identify the profile of the participants and the EORTC QLQC-30 was applied to assess the quality of life of these women. Results: The most common molecular subtypes were Luminal. The majority of patients were in stage 1 - early-stage breast cancer (39.56%). Better quality of life on the Functional Scale was associated with having a support network. Worse quality of life was associated with having the Triple Negative molecular subtype. Regarding the Global Health and Quality of Life Scale, the Triple Negative subtype (50.0%) presented worse outcomes, and in terms of symptom scale (59.0%) it was more pronounced. Conclusion: Early diagnosis is essential for better management and therapeutic conduct, and avoids unfavorable outcomes. The support network shows its importance, not only from relatives and friends, but also from the healthcare team, given that the treatment is long and the team will accompany the patient for years.
