Abstract
Objective: To report the experience of nursing students with health education on stroke and cardiovascular arrest (CPA), in a public school for third-year high school students. Experience report: The action called “the practice of first aid at school” was carried out by 10 nursing students from four higher education institutions (HEIs), with a class of 17 high school students. Using the Arco de Maguerez methodology, the monthly meetings addressed topics such as Stroke (CVA) and Cardiorespiratory Arrest (CPA), based on protocols from the American Heart Association (AHA). Students participated in theoretical and practical classes, learning to identify symptoms and perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers using simulation dummies. Final considerations: The action had a positive impact, reinforcing the importance of health education in the school environment. By promoting knowledge about first aid, the project contributed to empowering young people to act in emergency situations, highlighting the need for more initiatives like this.
