Abstract

Objective: Build and validate an audiovisual educational technology for pregnant women about the stages of labor and their rights as parturients. Methods: Applied methodological study, divided into five phases: literature review; development, construction, validation and pilot testing. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires for both specialist and communication judges, as well as the target audience. Statistical analysis was then carried out, using the Content Validity Index (CVI) and Cronbach's Alpha Coefficient. Results: The technology resulted in an educational video which was presented to 200 patients and 10 expert judges. It presented a general Content Validation Index of 0.95 (95%) and Cronbach's Alpha of 0.85, demonstrating a good validation index and good reliability of the questionnaire used. The patients considered the information interesting and important, with only one gap remaining regarding the advantages and disadvantages of the delivery methods. Conclusion: Thus, it is concluded that the ET, after going through the process of readjusting the topic on the advantages and disadvantages of birth routes, will be considered useful and efficient to be used by health professionals, aiming at the adequate dissemination of information.
