Abstract

Objective: To analyze studies that apply interventions to mitigate the negative effects of social media on adolescents' body image. Methods: This is an integrative review, in which a search was conducted in the PubMed, ScienceDirect, Lilacs, and Medline databases via BVS, using Health Science Descriptors (DeCS) related to "body image," "adolescents," and "social media," with the boolean operator "AND" to cross the descriptors. The inclusion criteria were: full-text articles that adhered to the topic, in Portuguese and English, published in the last 10 (ten) years between 2014 and 2024. Results: Eight articles were included that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria, addressing interventions with adolescents targeting the impact of social media on body image. Final considerations: It can be concluded that there is a significant demand for interventions related to body image and the influence of social media among adolescents. Therefore, it is necessary to improve interventions that address social media use and body image concerns to prevent and reduce possible negative impacts on youth health.
