Abstract

Objective: To identify and evaluate new diagnostic approaches for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), focusing on technological advancements, biomarkers, and recent diagnostic criteria that could improve the accuracy and timeliness of diagnosis for this condition. Methods: This integrative review was conducted based on a search in the PubMed Central (PMC) database, using the search terms "diagnosable" OR "diagnosis" AND "polycystic ovary syndrome." The initial search yielded 1,241 articles, of which 63 were selected after applying inclusion and exclusion criteria, resulting in 18 relevant articles for full analysis. Results: Key findings highlight technological advancements and promising biomarkers that may contribute to a more precise diagnosis of PCOS. The innovations discussed in the study suggest that combining new methodologies could lead to faster and more effective identification of the syndrome, benefiting the clinical management of patients. Final considerations: The study emphasizes the importance of ongoing research into PCOS diagnostics, considering current limitations and the need for further evidence.
