Abstract
Objective: To investigate the epidemiological profile of gestational toxoplasmosis in the State of Pará from 2019 to 2023. Methods: This is a descriptive, quantitative and retrospective epidemiological study with analysis of secondary data collected through the National Disease Notification System (SINAN) and Department of Information Technology of the Unified Health System (DATASUS). Results: During the study period, 1,816 cases of gestational toxoplasmosis were reported in the State of Pará. The majority of cases occurred in brown women (75.14%), aged between 20 and 39 years (71.92%), with completed high school education (30.66%), in addition to the highest number of notifications in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy (48.73%). Conclusion: The significant number of reported cases highlights the relevance of gestational toxoplasmosis as a public health issue in the State of Pará. The predominance among brown women, aged 20 to 39 and with high school education, in addition to the notifications concentrated in the 2nd trimester, highlights the need for attention to these groups. This study provides important data on the epidemiology of gestational toxoplasmosis, reinforcing the importance of efficient prenatal care in detecting and treating the disease.
