Abstract

Objective: To analyze the use of integrative and complementary practices (ICP) among professors, students and administrative technicians of the medical career, from a holistic perspective. Methods: Cross-sectional, descriptive and quantitative study with 52 participants (82.7% students, 11.5% teachers and 5.8% administrative staff). Six holistic dimensions were analyzed: self-knowledge, self-esteem, emotion recognition, conflict resolution, holistic practices and daily routines using PSPP software. The study was approved by the Ethics Committee. Results: 65% reported having anxiety, while 74.5% indicated having good relationships with friends and family. Of the total, 52.38% use dialogue to resolve conflicts, 53.8% are aware of PCIs and 80.8% believe that they help in medical treatment, although only 26% attribute great importance to them. Reiki is mentioned by 13.8%, but 32.8% do not practice any activity, with lack of time being the main problem (34.28%). Among practitioners, 68.2% do not share their practices, although 57.5% recognize the benefits for personal growth. Conclusion: The results highlight the importance of integrating PICs into the curriculum of health courses, promoting an integral view of the individual and greater connectivity between holistic dimensions. Further research is recommended to consolidate ICPs as effective adjuncts to traditional medical treatment.
