Abstract

Objective: To identify the medicinal plants most frequently used during the Covid-19 pandemic in Belém do Pará, analyze the profile of consumers and the factors associated with their use. Methods: This is a descriptive cross-sectional study, using an electronic questionnaire to collect data. The data collected was organized and tabulated in Microsoft Excel® spreadsheets, allowing the answers to be categorized and analyzed. Results: This study made it possible to identify and understand the practices related to the use of medicinal plants during the Covid-19 pandemic in the city of Belém, Pará. The results revealed a wide diversity of species used, highlighting the role of medicinal plants as a therapeutic alternative in a health crisis scenario, marked by the overload of health services and the search for accessible and culturally relevant solutions. Conclusion: The wealth of local knowledge and the increased demand for herbal medicines reinforce the importance of valuing integrative practices in primary health care, especially in regions with abundant biodiversity, such as the Amazon.
