Abstract

Objective: To report the experience lived by nursing students during their stay in a reference oncology hospital, which sought to insert the Aldrete and Kroulik score in the postanesthetic care unit. Experience report: The study consists of the experience of the students of the 5th semester of the graduate nursing at the State University of Pará (UEPA), during the period of mandatory practical classes of the curricular component Nursing in a Surgical Center and Material Center Sterilized, in a large hospital, located in the city of Belém-PA. In which, we use the problematization methodology, structured by the Arch of Maguerez (AM), as an instrument of observation of reality and data collection. The academics, together with the professor responsible for hospital practice, verified the need to insert the Aldrete and Kroulik Score in the postanesthetic care unit of the institution. Final considerations: We conclude, therefore, that the Aldrete and Kroulik score is indispensable in the hospital environment, considering that its application in the post-anesthesia recovery room in perioperative period, more specifically in immediate postoperative period, represents one of the means proposed by the World Health Organization for a safe surgical procedure.
