Abstract

Objective: To analyze the epidemiological profile of prostate cancer in the southeastern region of Pará, for the period from 2019 to 2023. Methods: This was a cross-sectional, exploratory, descriptive study. The study population was patients who underwent or are undergoing prostate cancer treatment at UNACON - Tucuruí/PA within the period from 2019 to 2023. Results: From the analysis of the collected data, it was possible to identify the predominant age group among cancer patients, as well as information on adherence to treatment. The data analysis also allowed to identify the average time between the first consultation and the start of treatment for cancer patients, in addition to the predominant age group of these patients. The data analysis also made it possible to identify the cities in Pará with the highest frequency of prostate cancer cases. Conclusion: The analysis highlights the need for public health strategies that promote access to early diagnosis and rapid treatment, especially for more vulnerable populations, such as the elderly.
