Abstract
Objective: To evaluate the evidence available in the literature and secondary data sources in relation to the epidemiological scenario of malaria in the State of Pará. Methods: Integrative review carried out in the Web of Science, PubMed and SciELO databases from 2003 to 2023, using the descriptors “malaria”, “epidemiology” and “state”, observing publications in Portuguese and English. Results: 23 pieces of evidence were obtained, whose data were analyzed in three categories, namely the epidemiology of malaria, the occurrence of malaria by the genus of Plasmodium and spatial distribution of cases in Pará. The prevalence of cases in male adults was observed, who have the fundamentals and who carry out activities with a greater degree of exposure to the disease. The distribution of plasmodia infection in Pará is more prevalent due to P. vivax infection and there is a heterogeneous spatial distribution among the municipalities of the State. Final considerations: Scientific evidence regarding the epidemiological scenario of malaria in Pará indicates that the disease is endemic in the region and has an association between incidence and the social vulnerability of the affected population.
