Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the evidence available in the literature and secondary data sources in relation to the epidemiological scenario of Chagas disease in the State of Pará. Methods: Integrative review carried out in the Web of Science, PubMed and SciELO databases from 2004 to 2024, using the descriptors “chagas disease”, “epidemiology” and “state”, observing publications in Portuguese and English. Results: 19 pieces of evidence were obtained, the data of which were analyzed in 2 categories, namely “epidemiology of Chagas disease” and “occurrence of Chagas disease related to oral infection in the state of Pará”. It was observed that there is a predominance of males, adults, mixed race, with low education and whose main occupational activities are related to açaí extraction activities and family farming. Furthermore, there is a greater incidence of transmission through oral infection compared to other routes of transmission. Final considerations: The synthesis of scientific evidence regarding the epidemiological scenario of Chagas disease in the state of Pará indicates that the disease has an association between its occurrence and the social profile of affected individuals.
