Abstract
Objective: To report the clinical case in which gummy smile correction was performed. Case details: Patient, 26 years old, female, attended the Dental Clinic of a higher education institution with aesthetic complaints of disproportion between her teeth and gums. On clinical examination, a gummy smile was diagnosed, and additional clinical and photographic examinations were carried out to identify the etiology, establishing a diagnosis of altered passive eruption. The proposed treatment was aesthetic clinical crown augmentation with osteotomy using the flapless technique, in which bone is removed via the gingival sulcus without opening a flap, being a modern technology in dentistry, which allows a minimally invasive approach to reestablish height of the supracrestal tissues. Final considerations: Treatment success is related to personalized approaches, taking into account expectations and health. In addition to improving aesthetics, the treatment contributed to improving the patient's self-esteem and emotional state.
