Abstract

Objective: To analyze students' perceptions of interprofessional tutorial groups in problem-based learning. Methods: This is an analytical study with a qualitative approach, conducted between August 2022 and August 2023 with first-term students from the pharmacy, physiotherapy, medicine, and dentistry courses, in compliance with Resolution No. 510/16. Data were processed using Bardin's content analysis. Results: Five categories were identified: the concept of interprofessionality; the dynamics of interprofessional tutorial groups; the benefits of interprofessional Problem-Based Learning; the challenges of addressing interprofessional education; and the feasibility of interprofessional education in tutorial groups. The study highlighted the importance of adapting higher education institutions to logistical and educational aspects to effectively implement the pedagogical project proposed by interprofessional education, thereby integrating different professions in collective actions. Conclusion: Interprofessional tutoring fosters comprehensive knowledge by encompassing various healthcare fields. Additionally, its inherent challenges reflect the future practice of interprofessional work, based on communicative and collaborative practice.
