Abstract

Objective: To assess the perception of the nursing team of Primary Care regarding Climacteric in a medium-sized city in Minas Gerais. Methods: An observational and cross-sectional study was conducted in the seventeen Family Health Strategies, through the application of a questionnaire directed to nurses, nursing technicians and community health agents of the units. For the statistical analysis, the Graphpad Prism® version 8.0.1 application was used and statistical significance was considered p<0.05. Results: Approximately 58.8% of the nurses perceived the little knowledge of the users about the climacteric and intense heat was the symptom most identified by the team (26%). The professionals most frequently referred to assist climacteric women, in the presence of complaints, were the family doctor (33%) and the gynecologist (32.5%), and most of the units (75.4%) do not have programs aimed at this public. Conclusion: The nursing team perceives the lack of knowledge of users, and the assistance programs are scarce. There are divergences regarding the referral flow among professionals. It remains a challenge for the team to understand its role in Primary Care in the care of climacteric women.
