Abstract
Objective: To identify, through an integrative review, the factors involved in the impracticality of patient safety protocols by health professionals and the importance of nurses in confronting strategies. Methods: This is an integrative review of the literature where they used articles published from 2016 to 2022, collected in the BVS, using the following databases: BDENF, LILACS AND SCIELO. The following descriptors were used: “patient safety”; “nursing care”; “security management”. Results: The final sample consisted of nine articles, after a systematic analysis four categories were listed. namely: 1/Failures in reporting between the members of the Nursing team; 2/ Inefficient management; 3/ Little knowledge concerning patient safety and 4/ Gaps in teaching about patient safety at the undergraduate level. Final considerations: This study allowed us to identify the factors involved in the impracticality of the PNSP protocols and the importance of nurses in their implementation. As well, it was possible to list confronting strategies for quality patient care.
