Abstract

Objective: To describe the experience and use problematization theory as a tool for situational strategic planning in a riverside community in Pará on sexually transmitted infections. Experience report: The action was carried out by 10 nursing students from a private Higher Education Institution (HEI) located in Belém, Pará, Brazil, on March 13, 2024 in a riverside community. The Charles Maguerez Arc was used as a methodology, with five stages: I- Identification of the Problem, II- Key Point, III- Theorization, IV- Hypothesis and V- Application/Intervention in reality and situational strategic planning, developed based on the tactical-operational planning cycle. 200 riverside residents, of different ages and genders, participated. Despite limited knowledge on the topic, the riverside community demonstrated receptivity to the proposed methodology. The need for a support network for the prevention of STIs became evident. Final considerations: The community benefited from the actions and services carried out, demonstrating participation and commitment throughout the entire process, contributing to the strengthening of the comprehensive and effective line of care.
